Black, White and Rad All Over

July 12th, 2018

For me, summer is all white, all the time. Think monochromatic white, white mixed with a pop of color, black and white and even white accessories — they’re all fab style statements this season. But perhaps the freshest way to rock white this season is by making it shine through the details. It’s a minimalistic look that is both sophisticated and luxe at the same time. Here’s a look at how to achieve it:

First, choose the right piece. I love a curve-hugging dress, and this frock from SoHo by Stephanie Horne is not only sexy but sophisticated thanks to its longer length (hitting just at the knee). When choosing a dress with a bit of stretch, consider your undergarments. Want to ensure a flawless look? Choose a seamless bra and panty, or a seamless body shaper. And remember, when wearing a body-hugging dress, it’s imperative to find the perfect fit. Too big, and the extra fabric will look awkward. Too tight, and it becomes unflattering. Try on a few sizes — with the proper undergarments — to find your perfect fit.

Then, let the details shine. Now it’s time to add the statement-making extras. It’s fun to mix and match a few white and metallic accessories to really make it pop. I chose a chic white mini handbag with metallic a metallic gold handle, white sunglasses and chic white pumps to accentuate this look. For the jewelry, I had a little fun with the black drop danglers. I love to mix metals, such as gold and silver or silver and rose gold, which I did with these bangles to finish the look. While black and white is always a classic, it’s time to sparkle! Give metallic accents a chance this spring. Try them subtly for day — or not-so-subtly for night. And there’s only one rule — have fun!
