The Case for Wide-Leg Pants

July 6th, 2018

Don’t get me wrong: I LOVE my jeans. I wear them like crazy any chance I get, and have a few pairs that are so lived-in I could actually sleep in them. (I don’t … but I could).

My love of  all things denim aside, sometimes I crave a chic alternative. As of late, I’ve been all about an on-trend and beyond posh summer-must have: wide-leg pants.

And while this silhouette is nothing new, this summer’s offerings are a step up from previous seasons (think modern, flattering design and fresh styling options).

This fashion girl is most drawn to the wide-leg pants that boast a higher waist (that hits at the smallest part of the waist), for the ultimate in flattering comfort and style. Plus, the higher the waist, the more cropped by top!

I am coveting paper-bag waists, directional pleats and fun belted styles — all available in a range of summer shades and fun patterns. My personal favs? Anything white, cream, taupe or — for a pop of color — red or yellow. Love a great print? Stripes are flattering and summer chic, and can be mixed with other cute patterns like contrasting stripes, polka dots and graphic statement tees.

Wear these pants loose and flowy (never too tight), and style them up with easy sneakers, a tee and a blazer; or go sophisticated with sandals and a blouse. How will you style this must-try trend?
