In Living Color
August 22nd, 2017
Unlike spring fashion, the fall season often conjures images of neutrals and dark tones. But this season I am all about the rich, saturated hues of red. From fiery orange-red to tones of oxblood, true red and even deep plum, I can’t wait to add some of these pops of glamour into my fall closet.
During this summer’s late-season Zara sale, I picked up this red blouse with unique ruffle details and an unexpected back cutout. The blouse is a perfect transition piece, and looks fab with the season’s “it” pant: distressed denim. From step hems to frayed edges, distressed denim is a must-have for fall, and I am living for these Citizens of Humanity jeans. Truth be told, I have owned these jeans for a few seasons, and took scissors to hem to create this fun step-hem style. (I am not mush for DIYs, but when it works, it works!)
While I generally stick to more subtle metallic jewelry, the decadence of fall has me all giddy — and wanting to pile on the luxe accents. That’s why I added these statement drop earrings, a to-die-for pearl-drop ring from local designer fav Canela-Canela, and this cool vibrant bracelet, also from the CC gals. It all works together to bring a glam yet eclectic vibe to the look. Simple ankle-tie heels and my go-to Tory Burch crossbody finish the look without further fuss.
How will you be styling your favorite colorful pieces for fall?
