A (White) Hot Second with Twigs

May 30th, 2018

Have you ever fallen in love with a jacket? Like truly, madly, deeply in love (wait, isn’t that a ’90s song?) with a jacket? Savage Garden references aside, this Veronica Beard fitted scuba jacket is my new wardrobe obsession.

Anyone who follows my blog or social feeds know I tend towards black like Wednesday Addams. But in the spring and summer months, why not lighten up? That’s when white replaces my ebony mainstay. After all, it’s still a neutral — and one that is as crisp and chic as the latest cover of Vogue.

So when the fab stylists at Twigs at The Corners of Brookfield suggested I try this white-hued topper, I had to take a hot second to see if the modern-cut jacket was my next summer crush. Adorned with zippers and an optional black and white sweater zip-in, it fit like it was made for me. Swoon!

Now this summer is all white, all the time. Think monochromatic white, white mixed with a pop of color and even white accessories (a white handbag — yaaassss!) to modernize your favorite look.

But perhaps the freshest way to rock white this season is by pairing it with its opposites-attract love interest, black. These jet-black high-rise jeans and this grommeted rag & bone rocker-chic clutch are the perfect finish for this look. The skin-toned Vince tank works as a versatile layering piece that also adds dimension to the look. It’s a glamorous take that is simultaneously sophisticated and luxe.

Sorry black, this summer I’m jumping on the alabaster train. *waves white flag*

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post for Twigs. All opinions remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company. This outfit is the jam and no one needs to pay me to say that! xo
