Ringing in Spring with Bell Sleeves

March 15th, 2017

It’s not often that I wear florals. As a self-proclaimed “solids gal” I usually opt for neutral colors and texture vs. bright hues and patterns. But I do love to mix it up a bit for spring, which often means rocking a fun floral here and there.

There are a few things that drew me to this dress more than all the other florals dresses that are populating boutique and department store racks this month. First, as a a gal who’s always on the go (a.k.a., I travel a lot!), it’s vital to choose fabrics that don’t welcome wrinkles. This fab jersey is a great choice for its wrinkle resistance and comfort. Next, the black undertone of this frock make it an easier transition for this lover of all things black to try a floral.

And last — but not least — oh, those bell sleeves! Spring and summer fashion for 2017 is all about the shoulder show and the unexpected sleeve, like this voluminous bell sleeve. It automatically gives the dress a style boost, elevating it to a spring must have.

I may not gravitate to florals — but I’m also not afraid to step out in this feminine print when the style of the dress is this versatile and chic. Talk about flower power …
