Wanted: More Wantable!

May 17th, 2016

When it comes to shopping, to say I am “particular” is perhaps a bigger understatement than saying Donald Trump’s hair is a little
untamed.

So when I interviewed Jalem Getz a few years ago
when I was the editor of M Magazine, I was intrigued by his new
business, Wantable (a lifestyle biz that connects fashionistas with
expert stylists who carefully curate a box of goodies for their clients
each month), but only cautiously optimistic it would be something that
would work for me.

As my career changed, and I made the
transition from fashion editor to fashion blogger, fun designer and
brand partnerships became a very cool — and necessary — part of my
world.

Recently, I crossed paths with Wantable again, and
this time, I was excited to see what the stylists would choose for this
finicky fashionista. After filling out a profile and answering a few
questions, an edit appeared on my doorstop, and I must say — I was
thrilled! Fab boyfriend jeans, a super-cute soft tank, a light cardi
jacket and more. All fit wonderfully, and perfectly captured the essence
of my street chic style.

But one item stood out in a truly
fabulous way. A posh heather gray sweatshirt dress by BB Dakota, with a
cute back cutout, was a clear summer standout. I could immediately
envision pairing this with a light leather jacket for spring, and on its
own with an ankle-tie sandal for summer. It’s an easy day-to-night
transition, with a few thoughtful accessory changes, and unbelievably
comfortable. Here’s a look at how I styled it for a shoot with my friend
and photographer Lottie Royten of Lottie Lillian Photography.

Enjoy! (And thanks, Wantable, for making a believer out of this control-freak fashion girl!)
