I love the transition from summer to fall. The slight chill in the air, stunning natural colors and of course fall fashion! But what do you do with all of your favorite summer trends when the cooler temps set in? Chances are, you can still integrate them into your wardrobe. White EVERYTHING is a must for me during the summer months but I also love to it in my rotation when autumn arrives. Making white work in the fall and winter is actually quite easy, as it’s more about how you wear it. This cotton white top, for example, would appear a bit too summery if I paired it with breezy skirt; that’s why I opted for these amazing Citizens of Humanity jeans. The denim adds a layer of warmth, and brings this summer staple into fall with ease – and posh. And did you see that side step-hem detail? Swoon!
Fall is all about luxe, so I made sure my accessories had an extra pop of texture and shine. I chose a statement necklace for an extra-bold effect. For shoes, these nude lace-up sandals are another summer staple I am bringing with me into fall. And this beaded clutch? Another texture and another way to amp up the style quotient.
White after Labor Day? Absolutely. Don’t be afraid to break this “rule,” which was originally started to separate the upper class from the middle class after the Depression. 2017 is all about equality — and that counts for fashion, too!
